2.2 Central Processing Unit (CPU)
The ’C3x devices (’C30, ’C31, and ’C32) have a register-based CPU architec-
ture. The CPU consists of the following components:
Floating-point/integer multiplier
Arithmetic logic unit (ALU)
32-bit barrel shifter
Internal buses (CPU1/CPU2 and REG1/REG2)
Auxiliary register arithmetic units (ARAUs)
CPU register file
Figure 2–4 shows a diagram of the various CPU components.
